According to Variety, Greg Silverman's new company Stampede is behind the film which is being made in partnership with producers J. Todd Harris and Marc Marcum from Branded Entertainment as well as Konami who still own the intellectual property.

Dance Dance Revolution appears to have been taken quite literally as the movie is set to take place in a world where their only chance of survival is to unite through the power of dance.

The announcement was made alongside the news that Cara Fano, who has been at Stampede since launch and previously worked with Silverman at Warner Bros, has been promoted to director of development across film and television.

This DDR film will join a long line of video games turned movies which audiences and critics can't seem to agree on. One of the more recent examples was Tomb Raider released this year, which we thought was mediocre due to failing to develop characters or story.
