Anthem Players Can Have Multiple Freelancers Per Account

You won't be stuck with just one player.

When BioWare's Anthem launches next year, player-characters won't be locked into single classes thanks to the ability to switch between different Javelins (exo-suits), each of which fills a traditional RPG class. But that doesn't mean each player will be restricted to having a single character.

In a tweet yesterday, Anthem Executive Producer Mark Darrah confirmed that players will be allowed to have multiple pilots, known as "Freelancers," on the same account. Darrah later confirmed that there will likely be a limit to how many additional Freelancers each player can have, but he doesn't know what that limit will be.

It was previously revealed that although Anthem's Javelins all fall into one of four classes, each one will be unique thanks to upgrades players make to their skill trees. Those upgrades will be distinct for each Javelin a player owns. Freelancers, meanwhile, will have their own separate skill trees, and their associated upgrades will carry over across multiple Javelins.

IGN broke down the Freelancer/Javelin system in our E3 2018 Anthem preview, explaining that gamers should think of the Javelins, not the Freelancers, as extensions of themselves. Each Javelin also has two weapon slots, two skill slots, and an ultimate ability, allowing for plenty of customization options.
