Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Finally Has A Combat Record

Almost six months after its release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 now has a Combat Record feature, although it is only accessible through the Call of Duty Companion app and website.

As reported by Eurogamer, the Combat Record feature is now live and allows you to check an impressive amount of stats in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, including such granular details as specific pieces of equipment and weapon attachments.

However, fans are upset that this feature is not available in the actual game itself, especially after a Reddit post by developer Treyarch that promised it would be added to the latest Call of Duty title.

The Combat Record was first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops in 2010 and has been in each Call of Duty title since its debut.

Treyarch posted again on Reddit and explained that it decided to shift its focus to the app and web because it "brings the stats that players want to the platform where they will get the most use out of them without taking time away from playing the game, so you can check your stats quickly and easily on your phone, tablet, or PC between matches."

As with many removed features, Treyarch saw that only a small portion of the player base utilized the "big feature" in game as it was buried within menus, and it decided it would be best suited outside the game.

With that being said, it had a design goal to include some important stats within the game, such as at the top level of the Barracks and on loading screens of each match.

This issue is also joined by another - the Leaderboard situation. Currently, Leaderboards only contain friends and recent players played with, and fans, like MP115, wish to know how they stand on a Global or even Lobby level.

"Leaderboards in their current state are absolutely meaningless," MP115 wrote on Reddit. "I don't care how my stats compare to those of my five random internet 'friends', I want to see where I stand globally and in the current lobby."

In more positive Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 news, the Call of Duty Endowment has placed over 54,000 veterans in jobs since 2009 and the battle royale mode, Blackout, is free to play all this month alongside a brand new Alcatraz map.
