Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II Rumored To Be In The Works
Canon is known for their cameras, and not just their DSLRs either. The company actually has a pretty decent reputation for creating solid compact cameras aimed at enthusiasts as part of their PowerShot G series. For those who loved the PowerShot G5 X, you will be pleased to learn that a successor to the camera could be in the works.
This is according to a tweet by Nokishita Camera (via Canon Rumors) who claims that a Canon prototype with the model number PC 2355 was spotted at certification agencies. Apparently, this is the Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II which suggests that Canon is working on the camera and that we could possibly expect an announcement this year.
Unfortunately, apart from the sighting at certification agencies, the tweet does not mention anything about its specs which means that it’s really anyone’s guess at the moment as to what kind of hardware the Mark II could be packing. As a quick recap, the Canon PowerShot G5 X came with a 24-100mm lens with an aperture of f/1.8-2.8 and an EVF.
This made it an ideal travel camera due to its range and relatively wide aperture, which could explain why it is a camera favored by many. In any case, hopefully we’ll have additional details soon, so check back with us later for more updates.
