Capcom Has No Plans to Bring Resident Evil 2 to Switch

Don't expect to see the Resident Evil 2 remake on the Nintendo Switch anytime soon, as Capcom has revealed it has no plans to bring the horror remake to the handheld platform.

When asked by GamingBolt whether there's any possibility of us seeing Resident Evil 2 on Switch, Capcom's brand manager Mike Lunn responded, “No, not at this time. We just wanted to focus on PS4, Xbox One, and PC at the moment.”

Though it doesn't seem like Resident Evil 2 will be making its way to Switch anytime soon, that doesn't mean the option has been ruled out completely or that the company won't follow a similar path to the Resident Evil 7 Cloud version for Switch.

Resident Evil 7 was released for Switch last month, however the title was exclusively released for the Japanese eShop and is only available to play via the cloud. This means players need a stable internet connection to stream the game, making it less portable.

Resident Evil 2 is out on January 25, 2019 and promises the same classic scenes we loved in the original - though the campaigns are a little different.
