At Fantasy Flight Games’ Gen Con 2018 preview on Wednesday night, the tabletop publisher announced that Star Wars’ prequel era series would be brought to life in the Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures game as well as Star Wars: Legion.

While not detailing how Clone Wars would appear within Legion, two Clone Wars era ships were teased for X-Wing, including a Sith Infiltrator concept art image and what looked like a reference image for a Jedi Starfighter.

Star Wars: X-Wing has historically been a game that highlights fan favorite characters, so perhaps we’ll get to see some Clone Wars heroes like Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, and young Obi-Wan Kenobi take flight across our dinner tables, though none of those have yet been confirmed.

This is another sign that Lucasfilm seems to have heard the call for the return of Clone Wars in a big way and is doubling down on the franchise across multimedias, including it’s most popular tabletop games.

This announcement comes just weeks after Disney revealed the triumphant return of the beloved animated Clone Wars series, previously cancelled in 2013. Disney showed off a trailer for the upcoming 12-episode run, but no release date was given.
