Cricket 19 Comes to the Crease This May

Following the release of the NBA Jam-inspired Big Bash Boom last December Big Ant is returning to a more authentic simulation of the sport with Cricket 19.

Promising to build on 2017’s popular Ashes Cricket, Cricket 19 will feature all formats of the sport, men’s and women’s teams, all host venues, plus the 2019 Ashes, fully licensed for both Australia and England.

Big Ant is also promising improved AI that will prod your weaknesses when bowling and look to rotate the strike and protect the tail when batting. The studio also revealed there will be a scenario mode which will allow players to recreate memorable real-life match situations and share them online to challenge others to complete them.

Enhancements to Cricket 19’s career mode also means how your player looks in news headlines will reportedly affect your potential career trajectory.

“We have the most active and passionate community. Many of our players logged thousands of hours with our previous cricket titles, and Cricket 19 is very much built on the experience of those players,” said Big Ant CEO Ross Symons alongside the announcement.

Big Ant has specialised in making software based on sports traditionally underrepresented in games for the last decade, including cricket, lacrosse, rugby league, and Australian rules football.

Cricket 19 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch in May, and a PC version will follow “shortly after.”
