Motion Twin and Red Bull released a new 12-minute video that delves deep into the history of Dead Cells and allows fans to see "the first iteration of Dead Cells, which started as a "really boring" multiplayer strategy game."

As for the "huge DLC," the team begins discussing it and showing footage at around the 8:50 mark and reveals they have been working on it for over nine months.

As previously mentioned by Twin Motion, this Rise of the Giant DLC is "built to give more depth to Dead Cells' end game," and will feature new biomes, bosses, enemies, weapons, and more.

The video also has the team discussing Earthworm Jim references and how they shifted their initial design idea deep into development and were "left with 12 months of runway before they ran out of money."

Those headed to PAX East in Boston from March 28 - March 31 will be able to get their hands-on this newest DLC.

Dead Cells released on Steam Early Access in 2017 and we believe that it deserves a place on the list of 14 best modern metroidvania games.
