You can go hands-on with Nero's robot arm in Germany.

Devil May Cry 5 director, Hideaki Itsuno, has shared extra details on the game's story, and says there's more to showcase at this year's Gamescom.

In a new video for Inside Xbox (below), Itsuno explains that the title is a direct sequel to Devil May Cry 4, and is set a few years after the events of the game. Nero is now running a mobile demon hunting agency out of his van, and has been gifted the neon Devil May Cry sign from Dante.

His weaponised robotic arm is called the Devil Breaker, and has a number of uses that fans might be able to pick up by watching the trailer closely. Itsuno says there will be more on that at Gamescom, and that there will be a playable demo at the German expo.

Itsuno also touched on the photorealistic graphics, saying that the game manages to avoid the "uncanny valley". It still plays with "that tight Capcom play control, but still feel[s] at home with realistic graphics."

"One last message to fans," he said, signing off the video. "I'm confident that what we've made will exceed even your expectations."

The game is currently 75 per cent done, and Capcom has teased that Nero and Dante will face their strongest foe yet.

The story will apparently focus on "something mysterious" happening in the demon world, with Nero setting off to find something or someone he's somehow lost.

Gamescom will take place on Tuesday, August 21 to Saturday, August 25, 2018, in Cologne, Germany, and tickets are on sale on the official website.
