Yesterday, a new trailer was released for Doom: Annihilation and the reaction was not overly positive. This prompted GeorgeTheRaven to tweet at id Software and the official Doom account and ask for their "most honest opinion."
In response, the official Doom account quote tweeted the question and said, simply, "We're not involved with the movie."
Developer id Software is distancing itself from the film, which will be the first Doom film since 2005's Doom starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and is instead putting all its focus on such upcoming titles as Doom: Eternal.
Speaking of Doom: Eternal, which is headed to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch and is the follow-up to 2016's Doom, it will see the Doom Slayer fight demons in "a literal hell on earth."
Only time will tell how Doom: Annihilation compares to 2005's Doom, which we said was okay and that it is "a big, dumb action movie that offers plenty of what its target audience wants from a video game adaptation, but provides precious little for everyone else."
Until then, check out some of Twitter's reactions to the brand-new trailer;
Marceless couldn't help but remember another live-action video game film with the name Annihilation in it...
Lord Pryo used the power of The Incredibles to make a statement.
SteeScribbles modified the Doom: Annihilation logo to express their thoughts.
Tom thought Don Corleone could express id Software's feelings the best.
