Following several reports of Anthem crashing on PlayStation 4 systems, BioWare has identified the causes of the issue and is working on a fix coming next week.

Revealed in a Tweet from BioWare’s head of live service Chad Robertson, the developer has "identified several causes for the temp power-down crash some PS4 users experienced. Fixes for the top issues are in patch next week. If you encounter a game crash where your PS4 console won’t respond, you can manually power down and restart it – no risk of damage.”

After thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has “bricked” a PS4 console. If you are experiencing anything different, please reach out to @EAHelp so we can track the incident and investigate. Thanks for your patience.

More worrying than the crashing issues are reports that these crashes have bricked some PS4s. In regards to this, Robertson tweeted "After thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has 'bricked' a PS4 console."

Players began encountering shutdown issues shortly after the game was released, which led to an influx of refund requests aimed at Sony and EA. This temp power-down crash isn’t the only issue the game has been experiencing, as a bug that allows level 1 guns to do more damage than higher level weapons has been discovered. A fix for this is also set to appear in the patch scheduled to drop on March 12.

This follows last week’s patch, with included a loot update created to address fan complaints over various loot systems.
