Fallout 4 Teased Fallout 76 in the Very Beginning of the Game

Bethesda so sneaky

Fallout 76 was right in front of us all along.

At the very beginning of Fallout 4, right before nuclear war drives your character into Vault 111, a television program can be seen touting the debut of Vault 76 in honor of America's 300th anniversary.  Eagle-eyed Redditor Star_Belenski spotted the Bethesda tease on Monday, and took a screenshot of the sneaky hint.

"Since debuting Vault 76 last year, in honor of America's Tercentenary, Vault-Tec continues to expand with plans for well over 100 Vaults around the country," the news report says in Fallout 4, shortly before the main character must evacuate with their family.

It seems to be the latest in a line of clues that Bethesda dropped over the years about the upcoming, post-apocalyptic multiplayer game. A terminal in Fallout 3 identified Vault 76 as being located in the vicinity of Washington D.C. or the surrounding area.

According to other hints dropped in the Fallout universe, Vault 76 housed 500 people and was meant to be a "control" Vault available for comparison in relation to the countless other Vaults that subjected their inhabitants to experimentation. Vault 76 was scheduled to reopen 20 years after it shut its doors to the outside world--2097--and Fallout 76 is set five years after that in 2102.
