Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint - a follow-up to Ghost Recon: Wildlands - has been revealed.

Breakpoint is set on the fictional archipelago of Auroa in the Pacific Ocean. Set for release on October 4 for PC, Xbox One and PS4, the game will follow on from Wildlands by allowing full 4-player co-op across its stealth-action focused open world. It will also launch with an (as-yet unspecified) PvP mode.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint's name was leaked alongside a special edition version of the game yesterday.

New features include a class system (although you can swap between classes freely), loot in the open world, light survival elements, and Prone Camo (the ability to slather yourself in mud to avoid detection). Post-launch, the game will also add endgame Raids.

Breakpoint catches up with Wildland's team leader Nomad. Stranded on a fictional Pacific island, you'll be contending with rogue ghost Cole D. Walker, pleayed by The Punisher's Jon Bernthal (who was introduced to Wildlands last week).

I got the chance to see and play some of the game recently - you can check out a big breakdown of the similarities and differences between Breakpoint and Wildlands right now.

We awarded Wildlands a 7.9 review, saying it "shows its flaws in its mission variety and vehicle physics, but its strong, sandbox-style gameplay and seamless co-op kept me coming back for more madness."
