Kingdom Hearts 3 Pre-Orders At GameStop Will Get An Awesome Disney Poster
1 hour ago
Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts 3 is still a long ways off from release. The game isn't due to hit retail store shelves until early 2019. This means you'll need to wait nearly six months before you can get your hands on one of the most highly anticipated games that's due for release this generation. Well ahead of the game's release, however, is the news that Kingdom Hearts 3 will actually contain pre-order bonuses for those who decide to commit to a purchase well ahead of the game's launch, and GameStop in particular is offering up an awesome Disney poster for those of you who enjoy gathering up collectibles through pre-orders.
The news comes courtesy of a tweet from the official Gamestop Twitter account, which announced that the pre-order exclusives are currently up for grabs from the popular video game retail outlet.
The pre-order will contain a fabric Disney poster either featuring characters from Monsters Inc., Toy Story or Frozen.
As per request from the tweet, you can help decide what the GameStop exclusive pre-order bonus will be by tweeting out with specific hashtags for the poster you would like to see included in the special pre-order bonus of Kingdom Hearts 3.
So, each of the three posters you can vote on have very distinct visuals. The one thing they all share in common is that they have a giant keyhole in the center with the main character from each of the Disney properties that they represent. We see that the Toy Story poster features a picture of Woody in the keyhole, waving, while Sora, Goofy and Donald are below in their LEGO-like format. The Monsters Inc., poster features Sullivan and Wazowski in the keyhole while Sora, Donald and Goofy are depicted in their monster forms. The Keyblade, Sora's iconic weapon, also takes on a very different format in each of the worlds, and as you can see in the Monsters Inc., poster, the Keyblade has a very mechanical design to it.
Last, but not least, is the Frozen poster for Kingdom Hearts 3, featuring Olaf, the snowman. Surprisingly, it doesn't feature Elsa or Anna. The frosty background is complicated with Sora, Donald and Goofy in the foreground. This time around the characters are normal with no special gimmicks, other than that Donald seems to be carrying an umbrella or a hook of some sort, and Sora's Keyblade has gone back to its normal format.
The general consensus on the Twitter thread seems to be that a lot of people like the Toy Story Toybox poster. There's also a large contingent of gamers hoping that GameStop makes all three posters available in the pre-order bundle.
I imagine it's going to be hard for hardcore fans of Disney to pick just one poster and stick with it. However, it's important to get the votes in now so that when January 25th, 2019 rolls around you'll know exactly which version you'll want to pre-order.
