Nope, Turns Out Solid Snake Isn't Coming to Tekken 7
Against the hopes of many an attendee at this year's EVO fighting game tournament, Metal Gear Solid's Snake is not coming to Tekken 7, as was believed. The official EVO Twitter account clarified what happened Sunday."Just to clear things up, the Snake cameo video that we showed during Tekken finals was our idea of a little joke," the EVO account wrote. "It was not intended to imply a character reveal, and was done on our own, without consulting Bandai Namco. Sorry for any confusion!"

The confusion began earlier Sunday when, shortly before the Tekken 7 Grand Finals, a short video appeared onscreen on the Mandalay Bay stage. The video appeared to play both an image of and the audio from Solid Snake's codec radio, leading many to believe that Snake was being teased as a new character for Tekken 7.
Solid Snake will just have to be satisfied with his guest role in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If you want to see who was crowned the grand champion of each individual game at EVO 2019, check out our comprehensive guide, which comes complete with video footage of the final match-ups.
