PlayStation Plus Free Games for July Revealed

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is included as a "special bonus."

Sony today revealed the seven games included in PlayStation Plus' July lineup via a PlayStation Blog post. Next month's games are:

Heavy Rain (PS4) Absolver (PS4) Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (PS4) Rayman 3 HD (PS3) Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess (PS3) Space Overlords (PS Vita) Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma (PS Vita)

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's inclusion may sound familiar, as Sony already added it to the roster after revealing it would be joining PlayStation Plus during its E3 2018 media showcase. Described as a "special bonus title" — the service normally has six monthly games, not seven — Black Ops 3 will only be available as a PlayStation Plus download through July 11.

Heavy Rain is the new, headlining title included in the premium subscription service next month. Its inclusion comes about five weeks after the release of developer Quantic Dream's latest game, Detroit: Become Human, which IGN scored an 8/10 and called "a poignantly pulpy interactive sci-fi drama" in our Detroit review. Although IGN awarded Heavy Rain's original PlayStation 3 release a 9/10, we gave the PlayStation 4 remaster a 7.5/10.

Quantic Dream's other PS3 title, Beyond: Two Souls, was a free PS Plus title earlier this year as well.

There's still time to pick up June's free PlayStation Plus games, which include XCOM 2 and Trials Fusion.
