In 1962, the Seattle World’s Fair (or Century 21 Exposition) ushered in a futuristic vision for its host city, bringing with it the construction of the Space Needle, among other things. In 2018, the event — and technology — come into play again in “Escape from Seattle: The World’s Fair Affair,” a new escape room from Puzzle Break.
Puzzle Break, leaders in the immersive, in-person entertainment in which groups solve puzzles and use teamwork to find their way out of a locked room, is offering a new tech twist with its latest room. In partnership with Microsoft, the experience incorporates HoloLens, the tech giant’s mixed reality headset.

“This room features bleeding-edge technology,” Puzzle Break co-founder and CEO Nate Martin said in a news release. “It exists nowhere else in the world. Microsoft approached Puzzle Break to create it just for us.”
The news release calls the room the most expensive one ever built by the 5-year-old company.
“The World’s Fair Affair” is a Seattle-themed adventure ideal for four to eight players, with what the company calls a “unique look at Seattle’s historic background” in which both locals and visitors can “search for clues, delve into mystery and race against time to save Seattle.”
