Spider-Man Is Getting His Own Awesome PS4 Bundle
4 minutes ago
If you're looking to get the full Spider-Man experience, then you might want to start saving your allowance. Sony has revealed a fully-themed PlayStation 4 bundle that will launch alongside the game on Sept. 7.
Yet another announcement to come crashing in from the San Diego Comic-Con news typhoon, Sony has pulled back the curtain on a brand new Spider-Man PS4 Pro bundle, which will boast a limited edition 1TB console, controller and, of course, a copy of Insomniac's upcoming game.
The whole package was revealed recently over on the PlayStation Blog, including box art for the bundle, a reminder of what the game looks like and a peek at that sweet Spidey-infused console and controller. The console and controller are both Spider-Man red with accents are in the off-gray appearing on the new suit featured in the game. Said accents include the actual Spider-Man logo on the console and all of the buttons on the controller.
Sony was so excited about the console that they even made a trailer for it.
If you're looking to pick one of these bad boys up, you might want to get your pre-order in soon. The console and game launch on Sept. 7, with the bundle going for $399. The announcement goes on to tout all of the extra horsepower afforded by the Pro model of the PlayStation 4, including 2160p dynamic 4K resolution and high-dynamic range. If you want Spidey to look his best in the upcoming game and you either haven't picked up a PS4 yet or are thinking of upgrading, this bundle might be the way to go.
As for the game, it's looking better and better each time we see it. Marvel's Spider-Man was playable at E3 this year and, from our limited hands-on time, we can confirm that swinging around the city and battling goons is as much fun as it looks in the trailers.
And speaking of trailers, the E3 reveal showed off plenty of Spider-Man's enemies including The Rhino and The Scorpion, while the recently released SDCC trailer revealed Silver Sable will be hunting down Spider-Man while he tries to bring the city back from the brink of chaos. It looks like Insomniac is putting together a pretty impressive story, so we're looking forward to seeing what sort of trouble Peter Parker and his pals manage to land themselves in.
Launching in just a few weeks, Spider-Man looks to be kicking off the insane fall gaming season in a big way. Now that you've had a chance to give the console a good look, feel free to share your thoughts on the limited edition bundle in the comments below. If you're thinking about picking one up, let us know what finally pushed you over the edge.
