The New Pokemon Go Event Is Here - CINEMABLEND

Pokemon Go's popularity may not be the raving party today in the same way that it was back in 2016 where it was everywhere all the time, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a healthy number of gamers still playing the game and looking forward to each of the new community events. Niantic Labs is keeping the promotional train running for Pokemon Go events by rolling out new Community Day get-togethers for gamers around the world. There are a number of events set to take place throughout August, giving fans of the mobile game ample opportunity to take advantage of certain deals and promotions.

Gamespot details the events that Pokemon Go has planned throughout August. The first Community Day event takes place over a two day period, it happened this weekend between August 11th and August 12th, featuring Eevee. There will be multiple events taking place throughout the rest of August, but once again they will only be held over the course of two days, usually the weekend.

As noted in the Gamespot article, each of the events will also only last for three hours each day. So you will be limited in how often you'll be able to get in on the events and what you'll be able to gain out of it.

For the Eevee Community Day events, the promotion sees Eevee being a prominent Pokemon drop. This means the Pokemon will spawn more often than not in order for trainers to capture the fox-like Pokemon.

In addition to this, every Eevee you capture will reward you with triple the amount of Stardust, along with having Lure Modules lasting for three hours instead of the standard half-hour run for their usual rates.

The events typically run from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Pacific Standard Time in North and South America, while the Asia-Pacific region runs between 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm Japan Standard Time. For the EMEA regions the time runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm UTC.

There's a measure of consistency between the times, but you're definitely limited in getting on on the event. If you have plans or scheduled events taking place during those times, you're kind of screwed out of getting on the digs.

On the upside, if you do manage to get in on the event, each Community Day for Pokemon Go has Pokemon that come with special abilities. So Eevee automatically knows Last Resort if you can capture it during the Community Day time frame. There is also the ability to capture a Shiny Eevee as well. But once again, you'll need to be online during the time frame when the event is running.

Some of the previous events from last year didn't quite turn out as well as gamers and Niantic Labs hoped for, with the Chicago event resulting in a lawsuit taking place. This year things rolled over a lot easier for Pokemon Go and Niantic Labs, and it seems to be smooth sailing throughout the rest of summer. You can look for the other Community Day events to take place over the weekend throughout August.
