Update: Overwatch Posts a Second Teaser, Possibly for Hero 28
In space, no one can hear you monkey around.
Update 06/26/18: The Overwatch account has now posted a second teaser set in the same location as the first - the difference being that a gigantic, rolling... something now rolls through the shot.
Many are speculating that this is Hero 28, although some have speculated that it could be to do with the return of the annual Summer Games event. That event usually kicks off in August, but it could perhaps come a little early to tie into the FIFA World Cup taking place at the moment.
The official Overwatch Twitter account posted a six-second video clip Thursday, potentially teasing either its 28th hero or a new map.
The short video shows off a dimly lit alley, most notably featuring a series of tattered posters, the most center of which depicts a monkey and a dog space suits. The text below them reads “no bots,” and a separate poster to the right advertises Horizon Lunar Colony.
The image of a monkey in this teaser points toward the rumors of Hammond, a character alluded to in the Horizon Lunar Colony map, being the 28th hero. Hammond was one of Winston’s fellow primates aboard the space station, before a violent revolution by the apes resulted in the deaths of all humans aboard.
Winston managed to escape to earth, but those monkeys are still up there, as evidenced by the casual destruction seen scattered around the Horizon map.
Other possible teases include a small image of the Junker Queen standing behind some partially osbcured text that reads “yard,” an obvious reference to the Scrapyard fighting arena in the Junkertown map.
IGN Happy Hour also recently had the voice actors behind Lucio and Junkrat on to chat about all things Australia and what a life-changing experience it's been working on Overwatch. You can also download the audio version of the show.
