WWE 2K19 Reveals Season Pass Details
Every new WWE 2K game comes with a robust selection of DLC released either during the game's initial launch or during the game's lifespan on the market. Over the last couple of years we've seen that these games just keep getting bigger and bigger, and 2K Games has been attempting to find new ways to lure in both longtime fans and newcomers alike by introducing all new DLC packs for each new iteration. For WWE 2K19 2K Games and Yukes have unveiled everything that will be contained within the upcoming wrestling game, which features a number of familiar faces and a few of the fan-favorites that have been tearing through the ranks both on the main roster and in NXT.
Over on the official WWE 2K website, there's a complete listing of everything you get in the season pass for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC version of WWE 2K19. There will be a pack of post-launch superstars, including NXT superstars EC3 and Ricochet, as well as 205 Live's newest acquisition, Lio Rush. The returning powerhouse Bobby Lashley is also part of the pack after debuting after this past year's Wrestlemania. This brings the already crazy roster size to all new heights.
The DLC featured in the season pass will release following the launch of the game in October, as well as into early 2019 for home consoles and PC. Not all of the DLC packs are character-oriented, though. Some of the packs will help give you a boost in your character performance and how quickly you can unlock new content in the game.
The season pass is available alongside the game for $29.99 and will feature a total of 11 characters. It will come with the accelerator to start with, which will allow you to unlock all of the content in WWE 2K19 without having to play through the actual game. You can also unlock attributes and moves for your character without the need to win matches or progress through the story mode in the traditional way using the MyPlayer Kickstart DLC, which allows you to unlock attributes without having to earn them in the career mode.
This is similar to the previous entries having a booster pack containing the ability to speed through leveling up your character, not unlike the cheats pack for games like Saints Row: The Third or the booster packs found in the Assassin's Creed games.
Alternatively you can purchase the accelerator and MyPlayer Kickstart separately for $4.99 and $9.99 respectively.
Following that is the New Moves Pack, which you will be able to purchase for $3.99. It features 50 all new in-game moves, featuring finishers from some 205 Live stars, as well as Jeff Hardy's atomic drop into the double-leg combo. It also includes the finishing tag team move from Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt when they were Woken.
Following that is the Rising Stars Pack, which features NXT's Candice LeRae, who is Johnny Gargano's wife; Dakota Kai, Ricochet and Lacey Evans from NXT also join the pack, along with 205's Lio Rush, and Maria and Mike Kanellis. This pack will be available separate from the season pass for $9.99.
And finally, there's the Titans Pack, which includes WWE superstar Bobby Lashley along with NXT superstars EC3 and the War Raiders' Rowe and Hanson. The pack will be available separate from the season pass for $9.99. Ultimately you're definitely saving money getting the season pass instead of purchasing each DLC separately. You can look for WWE 2K19 to launch for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC in October.
