Borderlands 3's Box Art Has Been Leaked and It's Wild

The box art for Borderlands 3 has been leaked, and it depicts the series’ Psycho mascot posed like Jesus Christ.

The art, leaked by prominent games Twitter figure Wario64, sees the Pyscho dressed in a robe with a glowing Borderlands logo forming a halo around his head. He’s holding his hand up in the ‘blessing’ style manner that Jesus is often depicted with, although here the Pyscho is holding up three fingers (because Borderlands 3). A buzz-saw substitutes a walking stick, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus is replaced by a hand grenade. Because of course it is.

The Pyscho is surrounded by a small selection of Borderlands 3’s bajillion guns, and a bed of roses that contain the faces of familiar characters. Gaudy doesn’t begin to describe it.

The Borderlands 3 reveal trailer shows multiple shots of locales with religious references, including the Holy Broadcast Center and an illuminated sign claiming “Rapture Upon Us, Holy Is The Mouth That Bleeds”, suggesting the game will have some kind of Biblical apocalypse slant.

Wario64’s tweet shows that the cover art slightly varies in colour with each of the three editions: blue for standard, red for the Deluxe Edition, and Gold for the Super Deluxe Edition.

There is also allegedly a fourth Diamond Loot Chest Collector’s Edition version of the game, which the same tweet claims to contain:

A Diamond Loot Chest replica Sanctuary 3 Snap Model 10 character figurines 5 character art lithographs 4 vault key keychains A cloth map of the galaxy The game in a Steelbook case The season pass Deluxe bonus content Gold weapon skins pack

It likely won’t be long until Gearbox and 2K officially reveal the Borderlands 3 box art. Until then, while Wario64 has a very good track record, take these images with a dash of salt.
