Kingdom Hearts Producer Wants Franchise to be in Disney Parks
"I'd like to reach out to them and discuss this further."
Kingdom Hearts executive producer Shinji Hashimoto wants the franchise to be featured in Disney parks across the world.
During Square Enix's annual shareholders meeting (translation via KHInsider), Hashimoto was asked if a physical crossover between Kingdom Hearts and Disney parks could ever happen. Hashimoto responded by saying it'd be a dream come true.
"As a Japanese person, it's been nothing short of a dream to be able to play something developed by a Japanese creator with Disney, especially the same Disney that owns such properties like Frozen and Star Wars," Hashimoto said.
Hashimoto then went to say he even wants to reach out to Disney to make this crossover possible, as he believes it'd be great for the growth of Disney's parks.
"Since Disney has an increasingly high regard for [Kingdom Hearts], I'd like to reach out to them and discuss this further," Hashimoto said. "Sales inside Disneyland will certainly contribute to the growth of the customer base."
Kingdom Hearts 3 launches on January 29, 2019. For more on the game, read why switching between English and Japanese voiceovers in Kingdom Hearts 3 is difficult to include right now. Also check out the Kingdom Hearts 3 collector's edition.
