Kingdom Hearts 3: Switching Between English and Japanese Voiceover 'Difficult' Right Now

*Cries in Japanese*

Kingdom Hearts 3 director, Tetsuya Nomura, has said that switching between the English and Japanese voiceovers in the game is proving difficult to support.

Nomura mentioned the difficulties in an interview with Weekly Famitsu, via Gematsu, saying that the differences in lip syncing to the audio is causing the issue. It's not clear from the interview whether it's something the studio is continuing to look into solving.

Nomura also touched on the size of the game as a whole, saying that some in-engine cutscenes are being turned into pre-rendered movies to reduce load times.

Despite concerns over the size of the game, the devs are considering including the Kingdom Hearts 3 catch up videos on the disc.

Nomura also addressed the possibility of DLC again, saying it's likely the game will have story expansions, rather than offering players in-game items or a season pass.

Kingdom Hearts 3 launches on January 29, 2019, a little later than its initial 2018 release window although the delay was less about giving the studio additional development time, and more about timing.

If it's on your wish list, be sure to check out the collector's edition of Kingdom Hearts 3, and the Kingdom Hearts 3 PS4 Pro.
